"Watson’s adeptness at capturing body language and facial expressions combines with nuanced dialog and a keen sense of irony to create a hugely entertaining page-turner." Library Journal (starred review)
"A darkly humorous read." Booklist
"Watson neatly balances moody atmosphere and light comedy... [a] deadpan funny riff on artistic insecurities." Publishers Weekly
"Andi Watson’s retro line, and the art with which his daring dialogues dramatizes any situation, make this graphic novel a British Delight." Le Monde
The new graphic novel from Andi Watson !
Following the publication of his latest novel, G. H. Fretwell, a little-known English writer, embarks on a book tour. Nothing goes according to plan, and his trip gradually turns into a nightmare. Fretwell’s real troubles start when he is questioned by the police about a mysterious disappearance.
The Book Tour is an entertaining Kafkaesque story, which takes a surreal turn as Fretwell’s problems start to mount. Andi Watson’s book, which debuted in France, in early 2019, is a little gem of black humour with a brilliant, retro visual style.
