“Subtle and beautiful.”
France Inter
“If it resembles a bit the first albums of Gipi, especially in his description of the poor Italian suburbs, Sheep eat salt offers an unexpected escape : leave the cities, return to the land, get lost in the countryside !”
Télérama
“A beautiful and tender comic book, which doesn’t neglect the toughness of reality, and an author to follow.”
Planète BD
“A very promising title.”

A brilliant and touching coming of age story
Christian is a thirteen-year-old boy who lives in an Italian suburb he almost never left, with his mother who takes care of everything, his absent, violent and alcoholic father and his older brother Francesco. After a violent dispute between their parents witnessed by the helpless two brothers, Francesco decides to take Chris to the sea for the first time. On the way back home, Chris discovers a house he believes to be abandoned, and thinks he has found the perfect place to hang out with his group of friends. They come back together to explore the place but are surprised by an old shepherd who lives there with his herd of sheep. After this event, the already tense relationships between the friends worsen...
Masterfully drawn in pencil, Sheep eat salt is a poignant graphic novel about adolescence and the struggles of growing up, when what is familiar has become hostile, when you have to detach yourself from those you know.
